  • I'm So Tired

I don't know how long I'll be able to keep this momentum going. I'm sore every day and more exhausted than I thought it was possible to be.

This morning, I did not bike to the subway. The thought of doing it was enough to make me cry. I did, however, go to the gym as per usual. Today, I did 15 minutes on the elliptical, 5 minutes on the rowing machine and about 5 minutes of weights, for a total of 25 minutes. I know, I know, I should have pushed for an extra five, but I'm damn tired, leave me the fuck alone, you stupid motivation!

I went to a different branch of my gym (Goodlife) and this one didn't have a steam room! SO SAD! That might be the reason I'm sore right now. I think after work I'll pop into the gym across the street from my office. They have a steam room there, and there's no rule that says I have to work out when I go to the gym, right? I can just lounge in the steam room, right? Right.

You know, the whole reason I blogged here today was  to tell you my good news: I'm down to 152! That means I have SEVEN MORE POUNDS TO GO UNTIL I AM AT MY GOAL! From there, it's just a matter of maintenance. I even intend to *gasp* eat a piece of bread or a noodle once in a while! I will maintain moderation up until the wedding (and beyond), but that will be so much easier than making these last pesky few pounds melt away.

So yay! Good news! But I'm cranky and tired today, so that kind of took over. Whoops haha

  • Almost There

I haven't weighed in a while, so I have no idea where I'm at. At last weigh-in I was 155 - I've yo-yo'd a wee bit since then, but I've also really started exercising more.

On May 25th, I went to the seamstress with my wedding gown. Now, my goal was to diet and work out until the dress fit, eliminating the need for alterations. Unfortunately, it will need a bit of work done.

There's no seam allowance, so she can't let it out. It does fit, but it's big in the chest. The seamstress says that's because despite my thinking that it fits perfectly, it's a bit snug in the waist and  that's causing the dress to ride up, giving the appearance of it being too big in the chest. She was like, "watch what happens when I unzip it". It fell cleanly and settled perfectly around my hips, and the problem with the bust was practically eliminated!!!

She told me to bring it back once I've lost ten pounds, and she'll shorten the straps and add a nice red sash. I asked her how much time she needed in order for it to be ready for my August 8th wedding - she said she needs to have it by the last week of June.

So that means I have 3-4 weeks to lose ten pounds. That's a tall order, but I'm ramping shit up a bit to accomplish it:
    • I am riding my bike to the subway station - total 6km/day, one way almost completely uphill
    • I am doing 30 minutes of cardio at the gym 4 days per week
    • I am doing a yoga class on Saturdays
    • I am going outside and doing something active on Sundays
    • I am still on the low-carb diet
    • I am drinking 3L of water per day (12 cups)
    • I have 2lb weights at my desk and muck around with them while working
So how about I weigh on Friday morning and we'll see where I'm at, yeah?

  • So, I've discovered that my digital scale here at home is off, and that I weigh LESS than I think I do when I see the numbers!

This morning, as usual, I got out of bed, took my pj's off, peed, pooped, then weighed. (It's an important ritual, shut up.)

My weight read 153.2lbs (uh, WOO!).

After I puttered around for a while, drinking a glass of water, two cups of coffee and eating a breakfast of two fried eggs and a half dozen slices of black forest ham, I went to the gym. I did half an hour on the elliptical and almost 45 minutes of weight training. Needless to say, I drank water throughout.

After I was finished, I went into the ladies' change room, took off my shoes and weighed myself, fully clothed, on the big industrial digital scale there. Whoah. 151.0lbs! That can't be right, I thought to myself. So I ran to the other end of the changeroom where there's another, albeit older, digital scale. Hopped on. Sure enough - 151.0lbs.

And that's after I ate, drank, worked out, and kept my clothes on!

I think I'll keep logging the numbers on my home scale, because I use it so many more times a week. And besides, who cares if the numbers are off by one or two, right? The important thing is that the numbers are going down. WOO!

Nothing new in terms of workout. Still waiting for my awesome new gym membership - in the meantime, I'm still using the sketchy sketchville gym. Today I did a lot of weight work on my biceps, triceps and deltoid. FEEL THE BURN! Have you got your tickets yet? To the gun show *mouah mouah*

omg omg omg omg omg, I is so excited!!!

    Check it. 154.6lbs.

I'm five foot, five and a half inches tall.

That puts my BMI at 25.

Do you know what 25 is?

    DO YOU?

    25 IS NORMALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

This is an all-time best for me, kids. My lowest weight since high school. I am SO FUCKING HOT!

  • Rolling, Rolling, Rolling

Whoa, look at the recent spike and fall there! That, ladies, was my pre-menstrual bloat. Now that I'm bleeding like a stuck pig, my body's decided to return to it's pre-PMS state. Thank goodness! My pants were getting a wee bit tight.

I still haven't been to the gym yet. I haven't been since before Easter. EPIC FAIL. But as the weather gets nicer, I'm outside doing active stuff way more often, so I wouldn't say I'm exercising less. I'm looking forward to going bike riding - I replaced the seat with an awesome 40$ ergonomic bike seat, and I'm going to attack the brakes and chain tonight with my trusty sidekick, WD40. Then I'm takin' her for a spin. I'm a bit worried about the air level in the front tire - seems I have to fill it up frequently.

I've been doing well with my daily crunch challenge, though! One hundred crunches per day ended up being a bit much for me,  so I'm doing 75 crunches daily: 25 in the morning, 25 after work and 25 before bed. So far so good!

So: WHAT'S FOR LUNCH TODAY? I'm having a little can of flavoured tuna and a salad. Yawn.
